Welcome to Class 4 and the end of lower Key Stage Two. English and Maths are taught every morning in our class along with spelling and handwriting. Children read each morning on arrival to school and can change books regularly. We also read our class novel at the end of most days. Reading books will go home daily and children are encouraged to read with an adult at home. Home Learning will be sent home on Friday and should be returned by Wednesday. Spellings will also be sent home.
We have an engaging and interactive curriculum. Our foundation subjects are taught through Learning Challenges which include topics about Romans and Greeks. We will also investigate electricity, digestive system and sounds as part of our Science topics.
In Year 4, children are given a Dojo as a reward for showing that they are ready to learn, on task or demonstrating good manners. We also work as a team to collect Whole Class Dojo’s and aim for a whole class treat if we are the class that win the most at the end of each Half Term. We are using our Zones of Regulation to help us regulate our emotions throughout the day.
