What We Do
A Rights Respecting ethos is already at the heart of everything we do at Escomb. Our children understand and appreciate that we are global citizens living in a wider world with different values and lifestyles. They take part in and organise a number of events to celebrate this and we have enjoyed links with schools in Japan, Tanzania, Botswana, Mozambique, Spain, Finland, and Czech Republic.
Our children are confident and understand their rights. They enjoy telling you that in fact they have more rights than adults! As a rights-respecting school we model rights and respect in all its relationship, between adults and children alike.
- Teaching and learning ABOUT rights.
- Teaching and learning THROUGH rights.
- Teaching and learning FOR rights.
The Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) is awarded by UNICEF and recognises achievements in putting United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of our school.

We are working towards gold Right’s Respecting School Award so they are going to be extremely busy in the future.
