Welcome to Year 1 and the beginning of Key Stage One. Maths is taught every morning alongside either Read, Write, In. and English. After lunch the children explore Learning Challenges. Home learning will be sent home on a Friday and should be returned on a Wednesday. We love Reading in Year 1. At the end of every day we all gather onto the carpet and ready some of our favourite books. Reading is important to us and we encourage everyone to read each night. Reading books will be collected in on a Friday and new books given on a Monday.
In Year 1, children are given Dojo’s for showing that they are ready to learn. We also work as a team to collect whole class Dojo’s when everyone is showing positive behaviours.
