Today we worked in teams and used meter sticks to measure the perimeter of the playground. We measured the short and long sides rounding up when necessary and then added the measurements together and then doubled it. We discussed why we would need to know the perimeter of the playground.

Today we used mini pizzas to identify a whole, half, thirds, quarters, sixths and eights. We talked about which fractions were bigger and equivalent fractions. We then put the slices in order of size.

During maths we explored which numbers from 3-30 will give a reminder of 1 when divided by 3. We then explored which numbers would give a reminder of 2 when divided by 4. We used our times table knowledge, worked systematically and used base ten to solve the problem.

Today we had a variety of measuring jugs. We were given different amounts in ml and had to add the correct amount of rice to the jugs.

We worked in groups. Each person chose an object from the classroom and measured it accurately using a ruler. We ordered the objects smallest to largest.

We were challenged to find which 2 digit numbers can be split into thirds and quarters. We had to decide how we record our results and carry out our investigation. We used cubes, cup method and our times table knowledge to share the numbers. We found the best way to record our results.
