Mindfulness
Article 29 – Education must develop every child’s personality, talent and abilities to the full.
Jenny visited our school and worked with every class over two days. She delivered a workshop on MINDFULNESS and taught us some useful techniques to control our minds in a variety of different situations. We learnt about our breathing, the helping hand and how to cope in challenging situations.
Botanic Gardens – June
Article 29– Every child has the right to an education
We visited the Botanic Gardens in Durham to explore how plants reproduce and how they adapt to their habitats and climates. Mike, the head gardener, took us on a tour of the grounds before guiding us through the green houses and revealing their secrets!
Low Barnes Presentation
Article 31—Every child has the right to relax and play.
Last year in Year 4 our class was involved in an arts project at Low Barns. We created images and wrote expressive sentences about Low Barns. In February, this year, we were invited to the grand opening of the bird hide at Low Barns where our work would be displayed!
Staindrop Transition Visit
Article 28- Every child has the right to an education.
We had a very enjoyable visit to Staindrop Secondary School. We took part in English, Maths and PE workshops.
Fun in the Snow!
Article 31—Every child has the right to relax and play.
Great fun was had by all in the snow. There were some amazing snowmen/ snow women made.
