Brazil Holiday brochure!
Article 28—Every child has the right to an education.
We are using PowerPoint to create a presentation about visiting Brazil. We had to collect the relevant information initially and then split it into the appropriate sections before adding it to the different slides of our PowerPoints.
We had to chose a destination in Brazil and then find out what the main attractions would be, how much it would cost and how we would get there.
After researching and creating our PowerPoints we would now like to book a school trip to Brazil!

Internet Safety – Police visit
Article 36—The Government must protect children from exploitation.
As part of our online safety work the Police visited Year 5 to give an important insight into how to stay safe online.
Technology is changing all the time and it is important to be aware of the possible dangers whilst being online. More importantly, we learnt how to stay in control and to report anything that we are concerned about to a trusted adult.
Micro:bits
Article 28—Every child has the right to an education.
We teamed up with Year 6 so that they could train us in the use of Micro:bits. A micro:bit is a piece of technology that can be programmed to follow different algorithms using a laptop.

Article 16 – You have the right to privacy.
We worked in groups to discuss what information is safe to share and how to stay safe on-line. As a class we have identified what to do if we have a problem on-line and who should be in our ‘circle of trust.’
Lego We Do
Article 29 – Every child has the right to develop their talents.
Lego We Do is a resource that promotes the use of SCRATCH. It is a coding unit of work where you create a structure with moving parts. We created our models and then coded the controls to move the parts with a sensor. It was quite challenging but we did it!
